Atlantean K9 was founded by James “Jimmy” Hill, a former Royal Marines Commando and UK Special Forces dog handler who has spent more than 15 years training, working with and rehabilitating dogs.

THIS DID NOT START IN A BOARDROOM
It started with the bond between a handler and his dog.
In the military, trust between a dog and handler is absolute. You train together, work together and move towards danger together. There is no room for guesswork. Preparation, physical condition and recovery all matter.
SERVICE
Where the standard was forged.
Jimmy served for 14 years, first as a Royal Marines Commando and later as a dog handler within UK Special Forces. His working dog, Rocco, was beside him on operations where the dog and handler team often went first.
That experience created a lasting belief: dogs give us everything they have. Our responsibility is to prepare them properly, protect their long-term health and give them the best chance to perform.

THE TURNING POINT
One operation changed everything.
In Afghanistan, Jimmy was shot multiple times during the operation that took Rocco and ended his military career. What followed was not a quick recovery. It meant years of operations, rehabilitation and learning how to rebuild a body after serious trauma.
That experience changed how he understood recovery. Progress is rarely one dramatic moment. It is the result of the right support, repeated consistently, over time.
FROM RECOVERY TO REHABILITATION
Pawseidon brought the mission home.
After leaving the military, Jimmy founded Pawseidon Canine Rehabilitation in Poole, Dorset. The centre works hands-on with family pets, active dogs and working dogs recovering from surgery, injury and mobility problems.
Inside the pool, underwater treadmill and rehabilitation gym, one lesson kept repeating itself: waiting until a dog slows down is often too late to start thinking about movement, condition and joint health.

WHY ATLANTEAN K9?

Atlantean K9 connects two parts of Jimmy’s life: the performance standard learned with working dogs and the long-term health lessons learned through rehabilitation.
